Default Total lunar eclipse tonight

The last total lunar eclipse for several years. 8:43 PM is the start of the main event; totality is between 10:01-10:51 PM EST. The south's potential view is rated "excellent" for this one.

Unfortunately, the weather is predicted to be mostly cloudy in this neck of the woods. Too bad it didn't happen last night. Hopefully, all this wind will push the clouds out or at least provide a few windows.

PS: near-earth space is a busy show today: shuttle returns to earth, potentially deadly satellite might wander in tonight, outgoing missile, lunar eclipse...

Cloudy today, but the viewing conditions couldn't have been any better last night. Magnificent show. Telescope webcam?

The Navy apparently hit its mark last night too:
