Ok so all of this talk about sliding down the dark path of Socialism in regards to the government taking over these failing banks and giving money to the people who caused this problem is ludicrous at best and criminal at worst. Regardless of which party line you tow I think we can all agree that something has to be done in order to shore up our markets and return confidence in the US economy by foreign investors. And so without further adieu here is my Bailout Plan:
-First we should pick a time frame for mortgages to be included (say the last 10 years). -The Feds will wipe away all of those mortgages included in the 10 year period. -Next the Feds will divvy up the $700 Billion dollars to all the banks to use to start the lending process again. -Now all of people who now have about $1000 dollars or more extra each month can now start pumping that money into the economy. -Finally the Feds will eliminate the capital gains tax and implement the Fair Tax to encourage investments offshore to come back to the U.S. which will now have become a corporate tax haven. |

I'd like to see some reforms too...this should be the last give away. How about election reform, tort reform, medicare, fema, etc...I'm working in galveston now...like many from our area trying to make money while we can but I've grown to hate fema more than before. What a tremendous waste of money. I dont think its the fed's responsibility to put blue tarps on roofs for free, or give cash cards out...or pay for cities debries clean up...or make everything all right again....wasn't like that when I was a kid. Get the govt to stop giving away my money. My friends on the lower end of the income level got a shock when they were getting their last IRS gift checks and I told them to spend my money wisely.
