Look for walleye to start moving in to river mouths, Stacked up on rocky points in almost no current. big bends in the main river channel and inside edges with drop offs. These fish will start going bananas in the next few weeks on the full moon. Feb. is a hard month to fish Blue Ridge lake as most people know. The water is COLD and the fish are slow, plus you are going to be cold, not maybe but yes ,you will be cold. Fish live bait , worms, minnows, or combination of either with jigs and slow rolling spinners. You can also fish straight under the boat and slow drift above mentioned baits inches off the bottom. Good news is if you can find fish there wont be much competition on the lake for them. Look for them up past point 5 area all the way up to the shoals, they should be there soon.

walleye are scattered on rocky points - look from 16 - 40 feet of water. start creek and the area by the dam should be holding some fish. Fish any thing real slow on the bottom,if you start catching catfish you are getting close.
![]() the top water bite for the smallies and spots has been pretty good as well. try a smack tackle GIZZ4 shallow in green pearl . If you see a fish bust just wing it and twitch it when it hits the water.they will fight over it!!! |

We had a great time last weekend on the water. What a beautiful lake! Didn't find any walleyes, but that doesn't matter. Spent most of the day just exploring, watching the charts and trying to learn the lake. Put in at the marina, just curious if there's any other public boat ramps...$15 to launch a boat is pretty steep, especially without a dock to stand on.
