Default Brewery Coming to the Ridge?

Little birdy told me that someone is floating around the idea of opening up a brewery/restaurant in Blue Ridge. I don't know about you guys but that would be the cats meow right there. Heck I may even try to get a part-time job there just to be close to the bacchanalian delights.

This goes back to affirm one of my previous posts...If you pass it they will come. I'm not saying that beer and wine is going to solve everything as far as the local economy goes, but it sure could help draw more tourist to our little gem of the south.

This would be great news if it actually happens! I wouldn't even mind if it were part of a chain like Five Seasons or Hops.

I hope they do more than just float the idea! Any new restaurant (or any business for that matter) that opens in this area will generate revenue - directly and indirectly. Taxes, employment, construction, goods and services, i.e., utilities, supplies, insurance, advertising, etc. A business does not stand alone but requires the support of many other businesses to survive. Everyone will benefit.

That Cadence Courtyard build on East Main would be a great place for a brew pub. That would drive a ton of business in town. Got my fingers crossed.

One step closer to a brew pub!

"The main difference in the first reading and the second reading of the ordinance is the provision for a brew pub, whereby malt beverages could be manufactured for sale."

Its the Big River Grill and I've been there a few times. Good food and beer, but believe it is a chain since the list a few others in TN and FL. Chattanooga was the original I think though.

Heard that the brewery is going into the Blue Christmas building. They've taken down one sign and I saw them cleaning it out.

Sweet! Did your little birdie mention an expected opening date? I'm getting a little thirsty!
