Back to the topic at hand....

Looks like EMCs aren't all they are cracked up to be. In not-too-far-away Cobb County the County District Attorney, GBI and Cobb Sheriff raided the Cobb EMC office and several of its board members' homes related to allegations that the officials siphoned off Co-op assets and enriched themselves at the members' and customers' expense, and that they engaged in unlawful transactions. hmmmm????

It all came to light after a newspaper began a series of investigative stories in the recent past... hmmmm????

Don't feel bad if your customer service, leaves less to be desired....they are hateful to everyone...even the locals, and heaven forbid you ever are a day late with your payment!!!...they will cut you O-F-F off...that day...and they make you feel like a common crimminal, or a deadbeat on top have the woman at the counter talking about you to her co workers, loudly....1st time offenders, not exempt from this treatment.....

but heaven forbid YOU actually have a problem, on their end, and try to get it corrected, its still your fault..( I would get my parents light bill, and mine)

I have never heard of such a high deposit to get your lights turned on to begin with, it was like $350 10 years ago....Lord knows what is up to now....Tri state is the worst thing about living here....

But whats a person to do? Its not like they are going to change, and the official's pockets get lined with their money, and chances are someones on the board....gotta love those good ols boys!!!...and like all thing in Blue Ridge, you just learn to live with it, or do what some locals I know do, buy a gas generator...and a wood burning fire place for the winters and open your windows in the summer....giggles

I just had to join and respond to this. Amicalola EMC is no better, they have decided to charge vacation cabin rental owners at a general rate instead of residential rate. This effectively doubles the electric bill.

Their timing is about as bad as it could possibly be.

sheesh.
