Yeah but you have to realize that we live in a place where our county and city leaders would willingly allow thousands upon thousands of jobs go someplace else in order to not receive one phone call from a distraught parishioner of one of the churches.

Oh I totally hear that! Good point as well. It has not gone unnoticed by me either. I voted yes hoping good karma might prevail this one time. Trust me I am not holding my breath. |

Voting Yes, hopefully they will see the light. I want to live in a place were families and kids have a future. Were store owners downtown and restaurants will flourish, and in a county that has revenue to maintain and upgrade is infrastructure, as well as provide citizens with security, services and education.
I don't want a big city but most of all this area is to beautiful to let it become a ghost town. |

A&A you forgot a "WHO KNOWS?!" option on your poll.
![]() Anybody going tonight? I think I'm going to sit this one out; perhaps it will be good luck. I'm tired of walking out frustrated with the level of stupidity. I guess a certain outgoing county commissioner could potentially surprise everyone tonight with a lick of sense. Who knows? Travis Tritt bringing 400 jobs to town might change a mind. There's also a city council meeting at 7PM and it could potentially come up there too. Perhaps they might be feeling some Travis Tritt envy? Nah... I hear it's going to Ellijay if Blue Ridge/Fannin say no. |

I know we are routinely disappointed by what our Commissioners decide over and over again...or lack there of.
I just know this county really needs this right now. In a very bad way. We are being thrown a rope here and I hope that the Commissioners just for this one time don't mess this one up. This County is in bad times right now. This offer is a blessing that frankly in the times we find ourselves in right now is amazing that it is even there on the table for us.If they do blow this then they deserve everything they get. The unfortunate part about it is if they blow it yet again it will affect all of us some way shape or form. I love this county and the people for the most part that live in it. I just hope it does not die and my Family are forced to have to pack up and move somewhere else where we can thrive with our lives. I really don't want that to happen becuase this is like a piece of Heaven to me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they finally see the light and stop making decisions based on whether they think their friends or Family will be mad or happy with them. I hope they also stop letting Called in favors dictate the direction this town is going. We cannot run this county that way. It will be the death of a beautiful place that would be truly tragic IMO. |

IF YOU VOTED 'YES' YOU WERE RIGHT. IT PASSED IN THE COUNTY!
Morris was "out-of-the-country", but Ledford voted yes, and yes, Bruce saw the light and voted "Yes"! Congratulations sir, you are no longer in the Blue Ridge bozo club. So, my understanding is that if it sticks (the new council can't overturn), the Music Auditorium and Hotel will go forward and beer & wine can be served in Fannin County restaurants outside the city limits. IT FAILED IN THE CITY It was a 2-2 tie in the city council and the mayor voted "No" as a tiebreaker because 'he needed more time'. If this becomes the law-of-the-county, and when he sees the city restaurants (and others) begin their max exodus out of the city limits, I think he'll find the 'time'. |

Kip that is GREAT news. So does this mean that the Big project of all the Apple Bees, Outbacks Etc being proposed to be built over by the Home Depot get the OK as well? That would be Wonderful News!
