Today I launched an overhauled version of
northgeorgiaweather.com. Most of the work was done under-the-hood in an attempt to provide, again more accurate/faster refreshes of the data coming in off of the weather station.
I still have a few pages(almanac & advisories)/bugs to iron-out, but in my testing it's a much more reliable method of getting the data to a web page. Now I'm using PHP to pull most of the data from a txt file that's ftp'd every few seconds (instead of the weather software rendering entire pages then uploading---baahh!). Hey I need all the bandwidth I can squeeze out with the web cams running; with the lake cam, weather station, feedmecam, & family/friends currently sharing the same 10MB cable connection, browsing can resemble dial-up on busy cam days.
