Well the true travesty of all of this is that once again fear-mongering and illegal tax exempt funding has won out over foresight, mediation, and control.
At some point liquor will be in this county. Whether it is through a development that gives its liquor taxes directly to the State of Georgia, thereby surpassing the local coffers, or whether it is by a thunderous change in commission direction and leadership. Change is coming. It always has and always will. The problem is how are you going to control it?
I want to thank everyone who participated in the vote regardless of how you feel. I'm just bummed that the citizens decided to give up control for complacency.
