Re: A Sober Apology
Well said Skydog. I couldn't agree with you more. I myself am from one of the local churches in FanninCounty who are part of the nonsensical crusade to abolish alcohol from the county. I too am a Christian who is saddened to see that my religion has been hijacked by fundamentalist who bend and twist the truth in order to try to make all of the sheep step in line and in rhythm with their unsubstantiated dogma. I too watch as my pastor and several church leaders rail against the evils of imbibing, yet proclaim there love of food served at restaurants that serve alcohol. I too hear the religious leaders espouse how God has given us all a freedom of choice to serve him or to not, yet they whole heartily step into the political arena and fight with all their might to limit others personal freedoms. I just want my religion back. I want my freedom. I think I may have lost them both.
